Real-Time CGM as a Motivational Support Tool in Type 2 Diabetes

In this 37-min video, originally presented at ADCES 2023 in August, you will hear from the experts about the various benefits of getting your type 2 diabetes patients started on CGM early. 

Dr Polonsky will discuss the psychosocial aspects of burden and distress that patients experience with day-to-day challenges that diabetes presents, and how early CGM introduction can help "make invisible - visible".

Dr Grace will follow with presenting the data from the real-life study at his clinic, at Findlay, OH. He will discuss what a difference can CGM make in any given patient's life, as well as share his experience with CGM access, and what it's like to put an entire town's population with diabetes on a CGM.

William H. Polonsky, PhD, CDCES

Dr. Polonsky is President and Founder of the Behavioral Diabetes Institute, the world's first organization wholly dedicated to studying and addressing the unmet psychological needs of people with diabetes. He is also Associate Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Polonsky received his PhD in clinical psychology from Yale University and has served as Senior Psychologist at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, faculty member at Harvard Medical School and Chairman of the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.
